As off putting as it may be, I had wanted to start this post with the practice of Gematria. I have had many fun contemplations from doing the practice, and it has often given myself something to meditate on for the day, sometimes producing real treasures. I also use it as a creative tool for developing stories (I’ll likely do an article on this in the near future). Aleister Crowley, a brilliant and under-rated mind had advised working with Gematria for the English Alphabet in his central Thelemic text The Book of the Law. From Line 55 in Chapter 2: “Thou shalt obtain the order & value of the English Alphabet; thou shalt find new symbols to attribute them unto.”
That explains why you will sometimes see them appear in my posts. (It seems a worthy thing to put attention to and something not too often explored). People when seeing Gematria at first are puzzled by it, meanwhile I find it satisfying in learning to associate words, and when you start doing the practice for a while, you start to notice neat patterns. Overall, I find it is effective to use to “break free” from the hold of language and enter a more relaxed, and less reactive but more responsive frame of mind. It’s also fun in the end finding what words end up associated with each other given their shared values, and seeing how they appear in future relationships with other number values. I’ll do some fun posts on it in the future to show how I take this activity rather lightly, but how it is endlessly fascinating and fun and can get real deep… even though to some it may at first appear overwhelming or as if something of a Youtube conspiracy channel. (That is, those bad over-the-top conspiracy channels which point incessantly at nothings and declare with certainty that they’re somethings). Anyways, why am I going on about all of this? Well, I mention this before going to the meditation as I found a particular correlation interesting.
‘Zen Buddhism’ in Simple English Gematria has a value of 125. The sole reason I’ve included Gematria at the top of this post is because Zen Buddhism shares the value of 125 with Hypnosis, and Mystery. It also shares value with Interpret; Spiritual; Surprise; Paradise Earth; Divine Right; Peace and Safety; Eternal Joy; Lord of Heaven; Soul Mates; Lady Of The Lake; Crystal Ball; Support; Fellowship; Solution; And It Was So.
In the event you were wondering, Zen has a value of 45 in Simple English Gematria which is a value shared coincidentally with Dharma. …See? It’s fun! (Of course I picked and chose which words I placed above – feel free to visit the hyperlinked text above to view the other words sharing values; there’s all kinds of fun stuff to do with the various words and terms that come up if you have a creative mind that wants to play).
Anyways, onto this thing. What is below is in no way meant as a cohesive representation of Zen, or Buddhist ideas, so if anyone is an expert in these subjects, or attached to them in identity – I don’t mean offense with my image, and I apologise if some information is not accurate. You can find information about the image in the following articles: The Vajra Meditation [Part 1], [Part 2 (Coming Soon)]
With all that above being said, take a look at the image below, if you will! Take your time and meditate on it! (Click anywhere on the image to enlarge it). Sorry for the awful quality of the top bit – I was lazy and had rasterized my layers since I made it in one file and it had a lot of layers. I also effected the hue and saturation on that layer as it was washed out and too off so I cranked it with no regards to its effect to bring it closer to black on the left side. The rest if zoomed in on, is in higher quality.
